Project 7

52 Reasons Why I Love You

I found this awesome project on Pinterest and looked up lots of examples around the web. This is Hub's V-Day present!

http://belvederephotographyblog.com/52-reasons-i-love-you/

It's a deck of playing cards with holes punched on the left side and binder rings to hold it all together. Each card has one of 52 reasons why I love him. Some of the cards have mini-folders with the reasons written. Other cards are just pictures (like a bag of teriyaki beef jerky. Yum! :-d). I'll post pictures when it's done, but just in case he actually looks up this blog, I can't post them until he gets it. ;)

Project 6

The nightmare project.

The wedding album.

We paid for most of the wedding ourselves using my pay checks and student aid. A few ways we saved were doing things ourselves and using two of Hub's coworkers as free photographers. We really appreciate the work they put into capturing the wedding... But very few pictures turned out favorably. In fact, a few of the iPhone photographers captured better shots. So this album has been particularly hard for me since I'm my own worst critic.

The pages are there. The pictures are sorted. The theme is set. I just have to sit down and do it.

Project 5

This is my cookbook. It has the top favored recipes of my house. Unfortunate for me, we've added some more favorites so I'll be heading to the store for more page inserts. o_o

Pages shown are the book cover, peppermint bark, and curry with rice. Trust me when I say these are the two most used recipes. ^.~

A few ithers included are: crepes, breakfast scramble, fajita burgers (delicioso!) and lefse.

Project 4

I figure while the minion is down for her nap (and I'm stuck under her) I would post a few more projects I have started and need to finish.

Project number 4 is the minion's baby book. I've got much finished, but I have yet to get the journaling done for our families and other pages I have outlined.

The photos are of the first page, pics of the growing bump, the story of finding out we'd be having a baby and the reveal to Hub's side of the family, sonograms we were lucky to have, and the layout of one of the family pages. Some of these pages have been slightly worked on since taking these photos, but the general idea of how far I am on this project is there.

I wish this blogger app would let me place the pictures in the order I want. Maybe I can correct that on the site.

Project 3

No website of inspiration this time. :)
I was hoping to find some card stock that looks like corrugated cardboard but since that didn't happen, these are just candles (that are bigger than votives) with card stock as a base and thinner scrap booking paper as the middle decoration or a glitter border for embellishment. The paper was adhered with super tacky red tape. That stayed for all of a few hours. Now it's held on with a hot glue gun. I have 4 more candles to go before this project is finished!

Project 2

This is another project found through blog hopping. I love the colors and how fun this Valentine wreath is. Being on a limited budget means looking through remnants at the craft store to recreate this.

So far..... Yeah, it's not progressing much at all. With about 2 weeks left until V-Day, I gotta get on this!

Project 1

Found this super cute picture on Pinterest.com and decided to do that for Minion's room. So I ran my happy little butt to Ikea and came up with.... Not much. I got frames to go with the R I already had. Unfortunately, the only doggy hooks they had were orange and pink. Now I'm on the hunt for something else cute to do there. And also for animal blocks instead of a name train.

Accountability

I have a soft spot for craft shopping. I go down the paper aisle and my pulse starts racing. Beads make my heart throb. Cricut cartridges make my temperature rise. A million ideas start building themselves in my mind so I stock up on stuff I don't really need and I never really end up using them. I have a dozen half-finished projects and almost as many barely started.

Hubster works all day so I'm home with Minion until about 6, when I start making dinner. Minion is an amusing child with this innate ability to know exactly when I'm thinking about working on a craft. She turns into the Hulk and I'm stuck in a whirlwind of Boom! Pow! and Wham! cartoon bubbles. Therefore I have the weekend to get housework, school work and craft projects done in a matter of hours-if we have a few hours of the weekend to ourselves, that is.

I'm almost positive if we set up a schedule and followed it every week there would be a feeling of accomplishment and no more second guessing about what's going on everyday. With that, I'd like to use this blog as a way to hold myself accountable. I want to finish the projects I've started.

I'm going to make a list of every half-finished project I have. I'll post where I'm at and what's left to complete. Every week I'll post updates with pictures so that I have to follow through with the list. I'm hoping this makes for a tidier work room, actual usage of supplies designated for my hobbies, and less guilt over spending money on stuff that collects dust.

After the list is done, I'll be able to go through my Smash book of inspiration and decide what's worth starting and go from there!

Next we meet, I will have a laundry list of goals. :)

What of this?

I finally did it.  I picked out a user name, blog title, and even thought about content.

But now what?

Now that I have this blank canvas, what will I do with it?

I suppose I'll perfect this blog as I go.  I should probably introduce myself.

I am Jenn.  I love Batman.  And anime.  I love animals; tigers and other cats in particular.  I love being crafty and adventures.  I have an amazingly adorable 8 month old and a handsome ginger husband.  Did I mention I love Batman?  It's an unhealthy obsession, really.  I hope to be his ex-wife someday.

Why wouldn't I want to stay married to him, you ask?  To be perfectly honest, he would probably divorce me.  He's chivalrous like that, you know.  He would find some secret plan created by Catwoman to dispose of me if he didn't leave me.  So he would trust in my secret keeping abilities, set me up with a nice house on the beach in California, and send Robin with the divorce papers to sign.  But I know he'll be hurting and will never stop loving me. So I'll survive and be grateful for the time I had with him.  Yep.  That's how it'll happen.  Just... don't tell him that.  He'd like to believe in happily-ever-after, the poor dear.

I hear the minion making fussy noises.  That's my sign.  Until next time. :)
